After successfully passing the test and turning 17 years old you will receive the test certificate which is valid in Germany as well as Austria.

Until the age of 18 you will only be allowed to drive with the accompanying person.


Prerequisites escort person:

  • Age min. 30 years
     
  • Car driver´s license min. 5 Years
     
  • Max. 1 points at traffic central register
     

At least one accompanying person must be entered on the examination certificate for BF17.

There is no maximum number of registered accompanying persons.

When you reach the age of 18, you will usually receive your EU driving licence by post from your driving licence authority. There are no additional fees for postal delivery.

If postal delivery is not possible in individual cases, you will be informed in writing when the card driving licence is ready for collection.

Collection is possible in person but also by an authorised representative, for which you will need your written authorisation, your passport or identity card and an identification document of the authorised representative.
