- Start of training minimum age 20.5 years
- Driving in Germany and abroad possible
- Up to 24 years of age Motorcycles with power restriction to max. 35 kW (48 hp) and power to weight ratio max. 0.2 kW/kg, which are not derived from a motorbike with an engine power of more than 70 kW
- From 24 years of age Motorcycles without engine capacity or power restrictions without retesting
Class A2
- Start of training minimum age 17.5 years
- Domestic and international driving possible
- Motorbikes with power limitation to max. 35 kW (48 hp) and power to weight ratio max. 0.2 kW/kg, which are not derived from a motorbike with an engine power of more than 70 kW
Class A1
- Start of training minimum age 15.5 years
- Domestic and international driving possible
- Motorbikes with engine capacity limited to max. 125 cc and power limitation to 11 kW (15 hp) and ratio of power to weight max. 0.1 kW/kg
Class B with key number 196
- Minimum age of 25 with previous possession of class B for at least 5 years
- Driving only possible in Germany
- Motorcycles with engine size limited to max. 125 cc, power limitation to 11 kW (15 hp) and power to weight ratio max. 0.1 kW/kg
Class AM
- Start of training minimum age 14.5 years
- Domestic and international driving possible
- Light two-wheeled motor vehicles with a maximum speed determined by the type of construction of no more than 45 km/h, a rated continuous output/utilised power of no more than 4 kW and an internal combustion engine with a cylinder capacity of no more than 50 cm³ or another form of propulsion
- Class AM is included in class B, B78, B197
