Language driving lessons and practical exam

  • Language German: at all locations
     
  • Language English: only at the location Schwabing-Freimann and location Schwabing-West
     
  • Language Turkish and Albanian: only at the location Schwabing-West
     
  • The practical exam is held exclusively in German.
     
  • For the driving lessons and practical exam you need a knowledge of German language minimum level A2 according to the Common European Framework (CEF). Even if your driving instructor speaks one of the languages listed.
     
  • Our German - English translation contains the words used by the examiner.

  • You may take driving lessons even if you have not yet attended theory lessons.
     
  • For efficient training, we recommend at least 2 driving appointments per week.

Training process

Training areas

  • Driving licence training is divided into 2 training areas:

    - Training lessons (basic training) within built-up areas

    - Special lessons outside built-up areas
     
  • At the end of a training area, your driving instructor will carry out a progress check to determine whether the learning objectives (exam readiness) have been achieved.
     
  • Before your practical exam can be scheduled, your driving instructor must be confident in your exam readiness across all training areas.

 

 

Training timeline

  1. Drive all modules on the drive easy simulator. Only class B197, B78, B.
     
  2. Drive an individual number of training lessons until you are ready to take the exam in a built-up area.
     
  3. Your driving instructor will carry out a progress check with you within a built-up area.

    -> learning objectives achieved (exam readiness) -> continue with point 3

    -> learning objectives not achieved (no exam readiness) -> further training lessons and new progress check
     
  4. Drive prescribed special lessons (if necessary)
     
  5. Your driving instructor must be convinced that you are still ready for the exam. If necessary, he will carry out another assessment of progress check.
     
  6. Consider taking some additional training lessons to get back to exam readiness.
     
  7. Drive your practical exam

 


According to the learner driver training regulations, the sequence is specified in the training plan.

Training lesson and special lesson

  • Your driving lessons consist of training lessons and special lessons.
     
  • It goes without saying that your driving instructor is punctual and keeps to the driving times.
     
  • To ensure that you don't drive too many hours, we have a digital training map for you.

     

Training lesson

  • In the training lessons, you will practise all basic driving tasks and driving within the city with all traffic rules and situations.
     
  • This number of training lessons varies depending on the learner driver. There is no statutory minimum number. The number of training lessons is not specified in the learner driver training regulations and must therefore be carried out individually depending on the learner driver's level of ability.
     
  • The number of training lessons expected in order to pass the exam cannot be precisely predicted at the beginning of the training.
     
  • Always according to our motto: “As much as necessary, as little as possible!”
     
  • The first training lessons take place on a practice area. The practice area is located near the driving school.
     
  • You drive the training lessons before the special lessons.

Special lesson

  • In the special lessons (also known as statutory compulsory lessons), you only train to drive outside the city on country roads, motorways and at dusk.
     
  • This duration is specified by law.
     
  • You drive the special lessons at the end of your training.

Reduce number of training lessons

  • Book your full driving lesson plan at the start of your training according to our recommended number of driving appointments.
     
  • Drive regularly at least 1 - 2 driving appointments per week.
     
  • Train on our drive easy driving simulator. Only class B197, B78 and class B.
     
  • Regularly ask your driving instructor whether the number of driving appointments you have booked is sufficient.
     
  • Work with your e-book and workbook.
     
  • Train all recurring action sequences with the mental audio training.
     
  • Follow the theory lessons attentively and then prepare them in your e-book and workbook.
     
  • Concentrate on your work during the driving appointments.
